Le the path to mathematical abstraction is not self-evident for many pupils. It needs to be accompanied, explained and supported by periods of manipulation, representation and modelling. These three phases must also be supported by verbalisation.
This was the subject of a training course held on 23 and 24 January at the Lycée Français de Berlin.
The many trainees, supervised by Sophie Thuillier CPAIEN and Virginie Schehr EMFE for the ZECO, have discovered the principles of the Singapore method in different areas of mathematics.
