For this new school year 2023/2024, the IEN office of the Central and Eastern Europe Zone, in partnership with the French association Dulala, invites you to join the Kami-nautés who are taking part in this multilingual story competition. The competition is open to all pupils in our zone, from nursery school to secondary school.

Kamilala is aFrench association Dulala in which pupils have to create multilingual stories that include French and at least three languages. The creations take the form of kamishibai, a paper theatre from Japan.
This storytelling technique involves sliding illustrated boards into a castelet called a butai. Each board depicts an episode from the story: on the front, there is the image and on the back, a short, simple text written and oralised in several languages.
The multilingual kamishibai is a fun and creative way to tell stories, as well as a teaching tool to help children learn to read, write, express themselves orally and artistically, and to open up to the languages and cultures of the world.
This approach allows all the children's languages to be valued (school languages, family languages, local languages).

The Kamilala competition in the Central and Eastern Europe Zone (www.kamilala.org/partner/aefe-zeco/) is aimed at all pupils in our schools, including those who are in the process of acquiring the language(s) of schooling.
The theme of the competition for 2023-2024 is : "Alone we go faster, together we go further".
To take part, you must register your class/group until 31 October 2023 then create your own story in the form of a kamishibai.
