Why teach outside the classroom? How can you do it? Where to go? How often?

Training Classrooms outside the classroom in cycle 1 on 12 and 13 May at thede Gaulle-Adenauer School in Bonn reflection on this particular form of teaching, whether through occasional or more regular outdoor sessions. Legislative and organisational aspects were also addressed.

The objectives of the course, co-hosted by Sophie ThuillierCPAIEN and Hildegard Heinzledirector of thede Gaulle-Adenauer School in Bonn and ESD coordinator for the 1st level in the Central and Eastern Europe Zonewere as follows:
⏩ experience real-life situations outside the classroom
⏩ observe and analyse pupils' outings, in relation to the different areas of learning in nursery school
⏩ provide a link between the outdoors and indoors, by planning educational sessions before and after outings
⏩ reflect on professional postures and gestures specific to the outdoor classroom
⏩ to give meaning to learning, by weaving links between "inside" and "outside" and engaging pupils in a process of questioning.

The course looked at ways of using the outdoor environment to address different areas of learning, taking into account the pupils' own experiences. It also looked at the teaching strategies to be adopted to maximise the impact of the outings.
