On Thursday 14 November, the Lycée Franco-Allemand de Sarrebruck was honoured to welcome Mrs Anne Genetet, Minister for Education in France and Mr Alexandre Portier, Minister with responsibility for Academic Achievement and Vocational Training on the occasion of the conference of French Academy Rectors, organised at the lycée.
This meeting was followed by a meeting on Friday between the Rectors, the Minister for Education and the Education Ministers of the German Länder.
Saarland's Minister for Education, Mrs. Christine Streichert-ClivotShe is currently President of the Conference of German Ministers of Education and Culture (KMK) and Minister-President of Saarland, Mrs Anke RehlingerAs the current plenipotentiary for Franco-German cultural cooperation, the Saarland has been the venue for consultation meetings between France and Germany.
One of the items on the programme was a brief visit to the Franco-German High SchoolThe event included a discussion with the school management and students who talked about their school careers.
"The Franco-German High School is more than just a school education. With its multilingual teaching and innovative exchange programmes, including participation in Erasmus+ projects, it builds a bridge between our two countries and is a place where understanding, empathy and European cooperation grow - values that are essential to the future of Europe", said Mrs. Christine Streichert-Clivot.
