Le Lycée Français International Victor Hugo de Francfort received training on 2 and 3 December on theSupport for ASEMs.

ASEMs work in nursery schools on a daily basis, looking after pupils and ensuring their safety. A well-functioning teacher/ASEM team is a prerequisite for an excellent nursery school.
The role of the ASEM is to support and assist the teacher in the day-to-day running of the classroom. Throughout the day, ASEMs assist children with educational and teaching activities, as well as with daily hygiene.

The aim of the course was to revisit professional practices, the links between those involved in the school and the place of oral expression in a multilingual context, and more specifically to :
⏩ Situate the ASEM's role within the educational team
⏩ Develop a close working relationship with the teacher
⏩ Help pupils acquire social skills using instructions and rules
⏩ Identifying the different needs of nursery school children to provide them with better support
⏩ Ensuring the best possible health and safety conditions with a group of young pupils
⏩ Adopting an educational attitude towards children struggling with their emotions.
