May 1st, from Warsaw, Christophe Gruault has embarked on a 2023 km solo journey along Europe's waterways towards Paris. The idea is to link two cities by a continuous stretch of freshwater.

With its Rowing Europein partnership with Paris National Museum of Natural History and the Iris FoundationHis aim is to raise public awareness, particularly among the younger generation, of the fragility of aquatic ecosystems and the need to protect one of our most precious common assets: freshwater. By travelling through five countries - Poland, Germany, Holland, Belgium and France - Christophe Gruault aims to highlight the fact that water knows no political boundaries.
At the same time, this intrepid traveller and lover of unusual sports will be meeting students from French-speaking secondary schools in the countries it passes through to raise their awareness of the importance of protecting water, and offering them the chance to take part in workshops and participatory science activities.

Launched in September 2022, with the sponsorship of theAEFE and Ministry of Europe and Foreign AffairsThe programme offered to teachers will run until 18 June 2023.

Students such as those from Lycée français René Goscinny in Warsaw as well as those of Lycée français de Berlin can follow the sporting expedition until 18 June 2023 and share their work by taking part in the events planned during the local stages and on the website.
Each class is free to create a collective work, reflecting the participation, discoveries and commitment of the students and their teachers.

ZECO supports this event and wishes Christophe Gruault a great trip!
