Training Boosting chemistry teaching from lower to upper secondary school for staff from the AEFE's 4 European zones took place at Lycée Français Jean Renoir de Munich from 17 to 19 March.

Around fifty trainees met up with 4 teacher trainers. Marie-Anne Dejoan for the North-West Europe and Scandinavia Zone, Ludivine Reyes for the South-East Europe Zone, Serge Paupy for the Iberian Europe Zone and Thibaut Monnet for the Central and Eastern Europe Zone - and prestigious speakers such as Jean-Pierre Avril IA-IPR of Physics and Chemistry at theAEFE, Jean-Yves Winum chemistry professor - deputy director of the Faculty of Science at the University of Montpellier as well as Sophie Canac MCF in education sciences, specialising in chemistry didactics, at theUniversity of Paris-Est Créteil.

A wide range of topics were covered and worked on, including chemistry and digital technology, with the integration of microcontrollers and data processing in Python, and chemistry and cooking.

After two intense days combining lectures and practical workshops, the 47 trainees rounded off their training with a visit to theESO - European Southern Observatory located in Garching near Munich.
They were able to discover the planetarium and the large integration hall. Thanks to Christophe Dupuy, opto-mechanical engineer, they visited the heart of ESO, where the instruments of the large telescopes are assembled and tested before leaving for Chile. An unforgettable visit!
