One of the AEFE's core missions is to provide ongoing training for staff working in the school network abroad. The Agency pursues an ambitious training policy for the benefit of all staff, which is a determining factor in the quality of teaching and the attractiveness of schools. In order to achieve the objective of doubling pupil numbers between 2018 and 2030 (CAP 2030) and to develop the network with more and better-trained human resources, training schemes are being stepped up. This is being achieved in particular by setting up regional training institutes in each of the sixteen pooling zones that make up the network.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>

Principles applicable to staff training<\/strong><\/h3>\n

All staff<\/strong>\u00a0teachers and non-teaching staff, from\u00a0all establishments in the French education network abroad, whatever their status<\/strong> (directly managed establishments, establishments under agreement and partner establishments). Training courses are aimed at\u00a0professionalisation<\/strong>, l'enrichment of practices\u00a0<\/strong>and theinnovation. <\/strong>Training courses must\u00a0meet the needs of staff and establishments. <\/strong>Training is provided by a\u00a0a pool of qualified and trained staff. <\/strong>Training courses can be based on\u00a0partnerships contracted or validated by the AEFE. <\/strong>Training initiatives can have\u00a0various perimeters<\/strong>\u00a0(inter-zone, geographical area, intra-establishment, open) and\u00a0various conditions<\/strong> (often combining face-to-face and distance learning). A\u00a0individual monitoring<\/strong>\u00a0of training pathways is carried out.<\/p>\n

A diversified and articulated training offer<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Some training courses (in safety, communication and orientation in particular) are offered by the AEFE central services<\/strong>\u00a0management staff and teacher-trainers working in the network, so that they can benefit from the expertise of head office staff and to guarantee shared skills.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Other training initiatives are included in the\u00a0regional training plans<\/strong>\u00a0developed by\u00a0regional training institutes (IRF<\/strong>), within each of the network's sixteen pooling zones. Upstream, the\u00a0school training cells<\/strong>\u00a0identify staff requests and local needs. Downstream, the\u00a0AEFE Training and Innovation Office<\/strong>\u00a0(within the Education, Guidance and Training Department) validates the zones' training plans.<\/p>\n

To support these processes, the Agency provides the network with\u00a0digital tools<\/strong>\u00a0performance, including a\u00a0online management application called ATENA<\/strong>accessible via the ORION collaborative intranet, as well as a\u00a0training platform<\/strong>\u00a0from a distance,<\/strong>\u00a0M@gist\u00e8reEFE<\/strong>made available by the Ministry of Education and specially configured for the French overseas education network (EFE).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

In addition, the\u00a0AEFE's partnership policy<\/strong>\u00a0is helping to build a broad and diversified range of training courses:<\/p>\n

  • Thanks to a partnership with the French Ministry of Education and Youth (MENJ<\/strong>), 150 teachers from primary and secondary schools are welcomed to France each year for around ten days by partner academies, with the opportunity to observe classroom practices.<\/li>\n
  • Closer ties with\u00a0higher education institutions<\/strong>\u00a0has led to the creation of degree courses: for example, the university diploma in \"Inclusive Education in French Schools Abroad\" (DU EI EFE<\/strong>) provided by INSHEA.<\/li>\n
  • Collaborative work with\u00a0Canop\u00e9 Network<\/strong>s expertise in training engineering has enabled it to structure and publish distance learning modules for professional training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Training courses in partnership with\u00a0CNED<\/strong> enable staff in the network to prepare remotely for national education competitions, thereby promoting professional mobility.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
